STAINLESS SHEET

Stainless sheet

Stainless sheet has the form of a plate. Sheets of stainless steel have different cutting and thickness as shown in their name. Stainless steel sheet according to the method of manufacture may be hot or cold rolling. Stainless sheet has a number of indisputable advantages over an ordinary black steel sheet. It is unpretentious in operation, durable and has a presentable appearance. Stainless sheet is used by itself as well as blanks for the production of cold-formed sections. You do not have to cover it with a layer of paint. Sheets of stainless steel may have different types of surfaces.
Stainless steel is used in construction, architecture, interior design.

The corrosion resistance of stainless steel depends on the amount of chromium: when the content of chromium is 13% and above, stainless steel alloys preserve inoxidizable in normal conditions and slightly aggressive media, when the rate is more than 17% we have corrosion resistant in more aggressive oxidizing environments, particularly in the nitric acid with strength up to 50%. The reason for the corrosion resistance of stainless steel sheets due to the fact that on the surface of chromium-bearing parts in contact with aggressive area.

Sheet of stainless steel cold rolled supply, the surface at the same time there are 3 types:

    mat, which is denoted by - 2B;
    Polished - 4N and 5N;
    mirror and superzerkalnaya - VA.

Hot-rolled stainless steel sheet is referred to as 1D.

Providing 4 basic types of stainless steels: austenitic, austenitic ferro-, ferritic, martensitic.

Austenitic steel - the most common. In this steel the nickel content is not less than 7%, which gives it flexibility, non-magnetic qualities, ability to work in a wide range of temperatures, good weldability.

Ferritic stainless steel with characteristics similar to mild steel, but has a higher resistance to corrosion. From this series are the most common alloys with chromium content 12% and 17%. The first (12%) used mainly in construction and steel with a chromium content of about 17% is used in everyday life: they are made of elements are used in boilers, decorative products and washing machines.

Ferro-austenitic or duplex steel has two structures of the crystal lattice - ferritic and austenitic. This steel is durable and flexible at the same time. This steel contains nickel, which leads to its austenitic structure. Duplex steel is widely used in petrochemical, pulp and paper industry and shipbuilding industry.

Martensitic stainless steel with a chromium content of 11-13%, it is tough and durable with high resistance to corrosion. It is used mainly for manufacturing turbines, propellers and blades.
